Russian Veterans in Scotland
Traditional festive event dedicated to the Victory Day in Great Britain, began with the visit of Soviet veterans to the north of Scotland, to the famous bay of Loch Ewe. This place is famous because it was from this point where the HMS ships traveled to Murmansk and Arkhangelsk to support the Soviet Union in the fight against the German invaders, during the Second World War.
The meeting was very warm. At the memorial, the wreath – laying procedure took place for the sailors who did not return from the campaign and then the veterans went to the opening of the museum of Arctic convoys in the village of Aultbea. This is of the few museums in the world that tells important episodic stories of wars in accurate details.

After visiting Scotland, a group of Russian veterans went to London to take part in the traditional wreath laying, at the Soviet memorial for the soldiers who died in WW2, which is located near the Imperial War Museum.
